Back to School giveaway at Big Play

The ‘A Call to Action’ nonprofit organization partnered with Big Play Entertainment to make going back to school a little easier on families at the fourth annual Back to School giveaway.

The nonprofit organization teamed up with Big Play with help from the radio station 107.1 the Monkey to give out 75 book bags filled with school supplies. The book bags were separated in groups by elementary, middle, and high school due to the different needs in school supplies.

‘A Call to Action’ started this event four years ago with hopes of making sure education is a top priority on the Gulf Coast.  ‘A Call to Action’ Founder Sugar Stallings said, “Mississippi is such a plight and disparity. To change the narrative and change that narrative around to do something positive in the community makes our story be the story that we want to tell.”

Donations were taken at the giveaway in exchange for Big Play Entertainment gift cards to help for the next back to school drive.
