Back Bay Mission in need of food for pantry

Back Bay Mission has seen a 20 percent increase in guests accessing their client choice food pantry, so they are running a little low.

Back Bay Mission is asking to please consider having a food drive at your church, work, school, or club, so they can continue to meet their increasing need.

A lot of their clients are new and with inflation, they plan on seeing even more as needs increase.

They are in need of all kinds of food including canned meat, fruit, peanut butter, water, and pasta just to name a few of the items. Interim Director of Client Services Sarah Smith said, “We saw more this week than we did all last month. We saw almost 400 people, housing homeless 200 of those were housed individuals or families. So, the cost and the demand and the supply are all issues that we are struggling with here at Back Bay Mission and we want to fill our shelves and provide as much as we can to as many people as we can.”

A list of all the items Back Bay Mission is in need of is located on their Facebook page. You can drop off donations at Back Bay Mission which is located 1012 Division Street in Biloxi.
