Back Bay Mission hosting event to remember those lost due to lack of housing

Next Wednesday, December 20 at 5 PM, Back Bay Mission will be hosting an event to remember the lives lost due to a lack of housing.

The event will include a candlelight vigil, moments of prayer, and a remembrance for the lives lost.

Biloxi Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich will also read a special proclamation at the event.

The National Coalition for the Homeless and the Homeless Council mark December 21 as Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day.

They choose December 21 because it is the longest night of the year.

The observance started in 1990 and serves as a tribute to those who lost their lives throughout the year due to lack of housing.
