Back Bay Mission brings volunteers from across country to MS Gulf Coast
BILOXI, Miss. — A group from Florida and Iowa is spending the next few weeks volunteering in the Biloxi community with Back Bay Mission.
For 20 years, their mission has been strengthening neighborhoods, seeking justice, and transforming lives. And over the next two weeks, they will be helping those in need by building ramps and porches for homes in the Biloxi area.
Volunteers say they initially came to the coast to lend a hand after Hurricane Katrina, but they have been back every year since.
Diana Griffith is in her 10th year of volunteering on the coast, and says one of the best parts is seeing each project come to fruition. She says she does it year after year to bring comfort to those who need it most.
Another volunteer we spoke with says the work Back Bay Mission is doing for the community each year, not only brings joy to those receiving the help, but also the ones offering it.
