Back Bay Mission and Planet Fitness team up to host food drive along the Coast
To help combat growing prices along the Coast, nonprofit organization Back Bay Mission is hosting a food drive in partnership with Planet Fitness gyms around the Coast.
The Back Bay Mission began their latest food drive earlier this week.
The food drive will help serve families and individuals struggling to keep up with the rising prices of goods. For those who are looking to donate, the drop off spots are actually located at five Planet Fitness gyms in Slidell, Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula.
Each location will accept items such as canned goods and nonperishables as well as paper goods until August 25th. Back Bay Mission Executive Director James Pennington said, “Well, it’s huge, you know? It’s huge I guess for me because I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness in Ocean Springs when I first moved down here a year and a couple months ago. I lived in Ocean Springs and then I bought a house in Biloxi and I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness. I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness back in Phoenix and it’s kind of cool to see them give back to the community.”
