Baby turtles hatch in Pass Christian
A nest of baby loggerhead turtles hatched last night and made their way to the Mississippi Sound.
As you can see in this video, the tiny turtles made their way out of the nest after breaking through their eggs.
The hatching came about midnight last night, according to IMMS Director Moby Solangi.
Why the red light? Because the baby turtles find their way to the water by looking for the reflection of the moon.
By using the red light, the nest watchers were able to see the babies without distracting them from heading to the water.
