Baby gator rescued after its mouth taped shut

When a baby alligator was spotted on Old Spanish Trail on Tuesday with his mouth taped shut, people in Bay St. Louis and Waveland were horrified.

Posts made to Residents & Visitors of Bay St. Louis showed the poor little guy unable to open his mouth.

A call went out to help the baby gator and Frontier Wildlife Solutions responded.

Jerm Everett captured the alligator, removed the tape from its mouth and relocated the gator, who had been hiding in a drainage ditch in front of a residence on Old Spanish Trail.

People who commented on the original post said people who were swimming in a nearby swimming hole saw the gator there and taped its mouth shut because children were swimming there.

Everett got belly-deep in the ditch to make sure it didn’t wander the roads in town.
