Autopsy results released in death of Delta State student

CLEVELAND, Miss. (WXXV)- The Cleveland Police Department has released an update in the death investigation of Delta State student De’Matravion Reed.
On Monday, September 15, officers with Cleveland Police Department responded to a call regarding a deceased individual on the Delta State University campus.
Officers located the body of 21-year-old Reed.
The Bolivar County Coroner responded to the scene and conducted a preliminary examination, which indicated no signs of foul play.
On September 17, the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, findings were consistent with the initial investigation. The autopsy determined Reed’s cause of death to be suicide.
Final toxicology reports are pending and may take two to four weeks to complete.
As part of the investigation, all files and investigative materials have been turned over to the FBI and the U.S. Attorney Office for review.
This remains an active investigation. No further details will be released at this time.
