Authorities investigating alleged threats at St. Clare Seafood Fest

Waveland police is asking for help regarding possible threats made during this weekend’s St. Clare Seafood Festival.

The St. Clare Seafood Festival told News 25 law enforcement alerted the festival that there was a possibility a shooting would happen while the fireworks were being shot.

Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Waveland Police, and the Bay St. Louis Police Department responded to the situation.

St. Clare pastor felt the safety of the guests and community was the utmost concern, ending the festival ten minutes early and did not hold the fireworks display.

Law enforcement is handling the investigation. We will update as we learn more information.
