Authored bill could bring $2.5M to Pass Christian Fire Department for renovations
Mississippi State Representative Carolyn Crawford has authored a bill that could help replace the outdated stations of Pass Christian Fire Department. This legislation has the opportunity to secure funding for a new facility, something the Pass Christian Fire Department says is desperately needed.
In a statement from Chief Woodman, he says, “Our fire stations have been outgrown, limiting our ability to comfortably house our first responders with the space, equipment, and resources they need to operate efficiently.”
Chief Woodman, with support from the mayor, teamed up with Representative Crawford to pursue state funding, requesting 2.5 million dollars and with construction for fiscal year 2026.
The Pass Christian Fire Department is hopeful that the bill will be approved and receive the funding needed to bring this project to reality.
This investment would bring the department up to par with other stations along the Gulf Coast, leaving room for future growth and ensuring their firefighters have the capacity to protect the community at the highest level.
