Austin Clark declared winner in Diamondhead Ward 4 Runoff Election

Austin Clark claims victory over Brigitte Becker in the runoff special election for Diamondhead’s Ward 4 council seat.

In a post on his Facebook page, Clark thanked his supporters and thanked Becker for a clean race.

The City of Diamondhead reports the unofficial results have Clark receiving 191 votes to Becker’s 179.

Clark and Becker advanced from a field of four candidates in the first round of voting from the seat that came open after former Councilman Chuck Clark was elected to the Hancock County Board of Supervisors.

In a statement given to News 25, Austin Clark says he is thankful for all the support and encouraging words he received throughout his campaign.

Clark says he is excited to be an asset for Diamondhead. He finishes by saying he can’t thank his family and Ward 4 enough for believing in him and trusting him to give the job his all.
