We’re getting new information about the officer involved shooting that happened in St. Martin early Monday morning.
News 25 obtained police radio chatter from that night which outlines how things happened.
On Monday morning around 1 am the Sheriff’s Department was called to the Ramada Inn on a call of possible drug activity inside one of the units.
“I have heavy odor of signal 30 coming from the room. Clerk’s asking for a welfare check.
That’s where Sherff’s Department officials say they were met by 23 year old Christian Bowman who became aggressive.
“We’ve got one at gunpoint. He’s fighting.”
Seconds later a deputy calls shots fired.
“Station two shots fired. I need Acadian at this residence.”
A few minutes’ later dispatchers ask for an update, where deputies say Bowman is handcuffed, but still combative.
“Yeah it’s 10/4. Just be advised he’s handcuffed, but he’s still fighting.”
Then moments later a dispatcher asks if the deputies need first responders.
“Yeah 10/4. Advise them one gunshot wound.
Dispatcher: “who?”
“The subject.”
While waiting for EMT’s the deputies try to save Bowman’s live.
“Be advised, we’re performing CPR at this time. IF you don’t have first responders in route please get here.”
