Attempted suicide during a traffic stop

Authorities say a man is in critical condition after attempting suicide during a traffic stop in Hancock County tonight.
According to Deputy Chief Don Bass, Hancock County deputies were attempting to pull over a vehicle for a possible DUI on Lakeshore Road near Lower Bay Road. Bass says the man then pulled out his gun and shot himself. Bass says no one else was in the car and no one else was injured.
The man is in critical condition at Memorial Hospital.
