Attempted Armed Robbery

A juvenile is in custody after an attempted armed robbery in Pass Christian Saturday evening. Police Chief Tim Hendricks tells News 25 a woman was confronted by a person wearing a hoodie and a mask in the parking lot of the Walmart on East Beach Boulevard. The masked person implied he had a gun. A nearby witness chased the suspect into the woods near the Walmart. While pursuing the suspect, that witness, who was carrying a firearm, fell and the weapon discharged. The suspect was taken into custody sometime after the incident. No injuries were reported.
