Assault Suspect is Back in Ocean Springs

The suspect who allegedly ran away to Florida after attacking and raping a woman at her job in Ocean Springs has been brought back to town to face charges.
According to Captain William Jackson of the Ocean Springs Police Department, Cameron May was picked up from the Okaloosa County Jail in Florida around 10 o’clock this morning.
He was brought to municipal court in Ocean Springs for a preliminary hearing. The suspect rejected a public offender and says he will hire his own attorney.
The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for next Wednesday at 7 a.m. No bond was set and May will remain in custody at the Ocean Springs Police Department.
