Assault On A Law Enforcement Officer

Several men have been charged with assault on an officer following an incident that took place yesterday afternoon at the Edgewater Mall.
Police originally responded to a disorderly conduct call.
A crowd was growing following “Lil Boosie” and his crew around the south entrance of Dillard’s.
A loss prevention employee requested the crowd leave the store and that’s when police say he was attacked along with the initial responding officer.
The five suspects two of them juveniles then fled the scene.
Police caught up with them a short while later.
The driver of the van they were in was not a part of the assault, but police did find a stolen gun on him and he was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
