Aspiring artists participate in Art Ventures Camp in Hancock County

The Art Ventures Camp returned today for aspiring young artists.

The camp returning this year bigger and better than years past. Kids aged six through 12 are taking part in the camp. The first section of the camp ends this Thursday, the next section starting July 15th and running until July 18th.

New this year, teenagers are able to take part in the camp. Camp Organizers telling us they’re excited to offer art lessons to more kids in Hancock County. Board Liaison Ann Weaver said, “We’re really excited Art Ventures that is happening this week. Because we can start to bring children in.”

Arts of Hancock County Treasurer Mamie Hillery said, “And this will be the first time we bring in the older kids. But again, they always say you don’t have to be an artist. It is just to get the creative juices flowing and to get kids to love art.”

The children learning several mediums of art and how to express themselves through art.
