Artist Billy Solitario to be featured in art gallery at Pascagoula River Audubon Center

The Pascagoula River Audubon Center rotates artists every eight weeks in their gallery. They’re currently exhibiting the work of Billy Solitario.

Solitario was raised in Gautier. He paints landscapes inspired by sand dunes, coastal savannas, and barrier islands along the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast.

His work will be on display until May 3rd inside the Moss Point Fine Art Gallery. PRAC exhibit artist that are local whose work also highlights the environment. Supporter Dr. Wayne Adkison said, “It is remarkable how much beauty there is in some of the simple things and Billy’s able to pick that up. He’s done a lot of painting of the islands and the work with the light and shadows, surf, and the sky. It just makes you feel like you’re there, only you don’t have to worry about mosquitos, sunburn, bad weather, that type of stuff.”

Tomorrow, there will be an artist reception inside the Moss Point Fine Art Gallery from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is free and you’ll be able to mix and mingle and chat with the artist Billy Solitario.
