Art market coming to West Side Park in Gulfport in May

Gulfport Main Street is working with the Mississippi Farmer’s Market Association to bring an arts and crafts market to West Side Park near Island View Resort.

The once-a-month market will come to fruition near Highway 90 on the first Saturday in May and continue every first Saturday afterward.

The Gulfport City Council voted Tuesday to grant the Gulfport Market a license agreement, giving it the go-ahead.

Now, Main Street and the market’s producer are seeking unique local vendors to set up in the park that day. Gulfport Main Street Association Director Laurie Toups said, “It’s going to be here at the West Side community park, which is great because it’s going to reach so many more people. And the neighborhoods around here, people will be able to walk here and enjoy the park, and do a little shopping.”

Local vendors can email gulfportharbormarket@gmail.com for more information.
