Art Disability Fair in Biloxi
It was nothing but good times, big smiles, and great dance moves during the Art Disability Fair at the Biloxi Civic Center.
This morning, nearly 600 kids and adults with intellectual disabilities came together to do free art activities. This year’s theme was ‘Hey Superheroes’ and everyone dressed in their best cape and mask to show off the superheroes they all are.
Disability Connection Executive Director Janie O’Keefe tells News 25 this is a fun event, but also aims to serve as a learning opportunity for the kids and adults. “People with significate disabilities can make a career of the arts. It’s a wonderful inclusive thing that is a lot of fun for them, great for socialization and entertainment. We just want to share this with the community. This is just a great opportunity for the community to come together and do something really special with people with disabilities.”
Many local artists and volunteers came together to make this event special.
