Arrests Made in St. Martin Burglaries

Two teenagers and a middle-aged man are all behind bars after unrelated burglaries occur in the same area of St. Martin.
Nineteen-year-old Desrae Durden of Biloxi is charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling, stemming from a burglary that happened last month on Cook Road. A 16-year-old is also charged. He is at the Jackson County Youth Court.
The incident involved four guns and two of them were found in the 16-year-old’s possession. Captain of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division Chris Stratton said, “If they’re hanging with the wrong crowds, breaking into houses, it’s going to happen. We want to get them off the street before anybody gets hurt with them. They were in the area, in the neighborhood, shooting that gun. It’s a high powered rifle in the backyard. That could be very dangerous,” said Captain Stratton.
In a separate case, 43-year-old Jonathan Kingston is charged with one count of burglary that occurred in the same area in September. He is being held in Harrison County on unrelated charges through various Gulf Coast law enforcement agencies. He is awaiting extradition to Jackson County.
