Arrests made in connection with George County church break-in and theft

Two people have been arrested in connection with a church break-in and theft in George County.

George County Sheriff’s Department says 41-year-old Hubert Rouse and 30-year-old Maegan Suzanne Davis are charged with commercial burglary of a church.

In addition, Davis is charged with trying to steal a car.

On Saturday, the sheriff’s department got a security alarm from New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Agricola.  Deputies found the front door and a window damaged and broken into. Several items were taken.

On Sunday, a resident near the church reported a vehicle burglary.

Rouse and Davis are in the George County Jail awaiting an initial appearance.
