Arrested for felony false pretense

On Friday, May 5, 2023, Sheriff Troy Peterson announced the arrest of 43-year-old Thomas Jason Scruggs on one count of Felony False Pretense.
According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, Harrison County Investigators received a report from a victim who stated that Thomas Scruggs falsely represented himself as a part owner of a company called iTch LLC.
The victim stated she transferred $3000.00 dollars as a business investment to Scruggs. The victim stated she then found out that Scruggs did not own the business. After verifying Scruggs was not an owner in the business, Harrison County Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Scruggs for Felony False Pretense.
Investigators arrested Scruggs on the warrant at his residence. Scruggs was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Thomas Jason Scruggs was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility and charged with Felony False Pretense. Thomas Jason Scruggs is being held in lieu of a $15,000.00 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge B. Ladner pending his initial appearance.
