Arrested for capital murder in Ocean Springs

A man has been charged with capital murder after the death of his girlfriend’s seven-month-old baby.
Twenty-seven year-old Michael Harris was arrested after the mother of seven-month-old Tanner Cowart returned home to find her son unresponsive. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell says the baby was abused.
Harris was initially charged with felony child abuse, but the charge was upgraded when Tanner died today at USA Medical Center in Mobile.
