Arrested for armed robbery

The Biloxi Police Department arrested 24 year old Elijah Markus Smith for armed robbery and possession of a firearm after felony conviction.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation that started on January 28th when Biloxi Officers responded to a shooting in the 7200 block of Woolmarket Road, Biloxi MS.  Upon arrival officers located a male in his 20’s who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

During the course of the investigation information was obtained that identified Smith as a suspect of the armed robbery who was in possession of a firearm. During the alleged robbery, another subject was shot and is currently in a local hospital receiving treatment.  An arrest warrant was obtained for Smith and he was later apprehended.

Smith was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on a $250,000.00 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.

Additional specifics of this case are not being released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
