Arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault

Gulfport police announced the arrest of 25-year-old Jeralyn Wells and charged her with one count of aggravated assault.

Around 9 this morning, officers arrived to Arkansas Avenue after a hit and run was reported. The hit and run victim was found with what looked like a gunshot wound.

Detectives learned the victim and Wells had gotten into a fight. Wells got into her car and rammed the victim’s car, after getting out and shooting.

Wells was found in Waveland and taken into custody.
