Arrest made in Gulfport shooting that left one injured


On July 8, 2021, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 34-year-old, Rose Madge Madison and charged her with one count of Aggravated Assault. Madison’s bond was set at $150,000.

On July 8, 2021, at approximately 10:08 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the area of 41st Street and Searle Avenue in reference to a shooting. Once on scene, officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to a local area hospital where his status was listed as critical.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives discovered Madison and the victim were involved in a road rage incident near Three Rivers Road and Airport Road. A verbal altercation ensued between the two and Madison pursued the victim to the area of 41st Street and Searle Avenue. Once the vehicles came to a stop, Madison discharged a firearm multiple times, striking the victim.

Madison was processed and then transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center to be held in lieu of her bond.
