Arrest made in connection to Harrison Central High lockdown

On Wednesday afternoon Harrison Central High School was out on put on lockdown after receiving threatening phone calls. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has now made an arrest of a minor in connection with the incident.

Officials have said that a 16 year has been charged with two counts of making terroristic threats after calling into the school on Wednesday. The school was put on soft lockdown about 12:30 in the afternoon not allowing any persons to enter or exit the campus. This lasted until around 1:45 p.m.

This marks the second time in less than a week that Harrison Central High has received a threat, with one another occurring this last Friday. Investigators arrested the minor at his home and he has been transported to to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center and is being held without bond pending a juvenile detention hearing.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office was on scene securing the campus, where over 1,500 students are enrolled.
