Arrest made in Gulfport apartment death

On May 3, 2017, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 48-year-old William Douglas Bryant Jr., of Gulfport, on the charge of murder.
Bryant’s arrest was the result of a patrol response to Legacy Apartments located at 820 Lindh Road in reference to a suspicious death. Upon arrival at 3:01 p.m., officers located the adult female victim along with Bryant. Bryant was taken into custody without incident and transported to the station.
It was later learned that Bryant and the victim were involved in a physical altercation when Bryant used an unknown object to strike the victim. The Medical Examiner and Gulfport Police Detectives are still investigating this incident.

After booking and other procedures, Bryant was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility to be held in lieu of $1,000,000.00 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray.
