Arrest made in Gautier murder

Detectives with the Gautier Police Department have made an arrest in the murder that occurred yesterday morning at the Singing River Apartments.

While following up on leads Officers Clayton Alexander and Jason Pitts discovered the location of Christopher Kimsey (23 years of age), who was wanted for questioning in the crime. Kimsey was located at River Bend Apartments along with three other adults. After several interviews and executing search warrants, detectives charged Kimsey with 1st Degree Murder.

An initial appearance for Kimsey is set for 11/01/2019, at which time bond will be addressed. The cause of death will be released at the conclusion of the autopsy, which is taking place this morning. Charges against the remaining three adults are still possible following further investigation.

The family of the victim have not been located at this time so the victim information will not be released. It is expected that today the notification will take place.
