Arrest made for shooting on Interstate 10 in Jackson County

GAUTIER, MS – On October 2, 2023 at around 4:30 p.m., Ladairrius Quatez Murphy was taken into custody by Gulfport Police Department.

Murphy has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, related to the Interstate 10 shooting that occurred in Gautier on September 9, 2023.

Murphy was taken to the Gautier Police Department where he was booked on his charges. He is being held at the Jackson County jail pending his initial court appearance.

Chief David Bever would like to thank the Gautier police officers and detectives involved with this case.

Bever also thanked Gulfport Police Department for its assistance in capturing Murphy. The incident is still an open investigation, and updates will be released when available.
