Army National Guard grounds helicopters following recent crashes

The U.S. Army National Guard has grounded all of its helicopters.

The stand-down comes days after two Mississippi guardsmen were killed when their Apache helicopter crashed during a training flight.

Earlier this month, an Apache helicopter also crashed in Utah, but both pilots survived.

The National Guard has not said how long the helicopters will be grounded. The purpose is to review safety policies and procedures.

This comes as the military is already in a fleet-wide stand-down of the V-22 Osprey. That followed the deadly crash in Japan that killed all eight airmen aboard in December.
