Army Corps of Engineers warns boaters of hazard to navigation at Bayou Casotte

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- The Army Corps of Engineers is warning boaters about a hazard in the Bayou Casotte channel.

Floating pipeline is positioned across the area 24 hours a day, expected to remain there for the duration of dredging operations.

Those operations are expected to continue until Friday, July 31.

The corps will temporarily disconnect the pipeline to allow vessel traffic to pass safely when coordinated in advance. All vessels should contact the onsite dredge on VHF Channel 16 at least one hour prior to arrival.
