Armed Robbery, Stolen Firearm Arrest – Dequarius Oneil McCord

On March 24, 2018 the Gulfport Police Department arrested 19 year old Dequarius Oneil McCord of  Gulfport charging each with one count of Armed Robbery, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

The arrest was the result of a patrol response on March 24, 2018 at approximately 1:32 pm to a report of Armed Robbery in the 3300 block of 39th Avenue at an apartment. The victim reported that a male knocked on his door. The victim stated when he opened the door a male pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. After taking a small amount of cash, the male then fled the area. Gulfport Police and Detectives responded.  Patrol Officers located McCord during the course of the investigation. A handgun was recovered which had been reported stolen through the Long Beach Police Department in August of 2017.

The resulting investigation led to McCord being charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a stolen Firearm, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. The felony warrants were obtained from Harrison County Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray who set bonds at $50,000 (Armed Robbery), and $50,000 (Possession of a stolen firearm). McCord was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
