Arkansas and Ole Miss set to break CWS Jello Shot record
The College World Series is a big deal, but there’s another competition taking place right across the street that gives baseball a run for its money.
Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina in Omaha pits all eight College World Series fan bases against each other in what they call the Jello Shot Challenge.
At $4.50, they want to see which school can put away the most shots during their stay. Arkansas got out to a hot start, but Ole Miss downed over 2,000 Jello shots in 24 hours to catch back up.
Mississippi State won the challenge last year with a record-setting 2,965 Jello shots, but Arkansas and Ole Miss are both on pace to blow that record out of the water.
Ole Miss players are confident their fans will win it all. (“Only a couple hundred behind Arkansas, do you think the Ole Miss fans can pull that out?”) “From what I’ve seen in Oxford, I’m sure they can get it done. I’ve been following it on Twitter. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say but I think it’s awesome.”
“I’ve seen that. I guess it’s a good way to make money. I’ve heard Ole Miss never loses a party.”
