Applications open for 2026 wild hog control program

The state department of agriculture and commerce is accepting a new round of applications for its wild hog control program.

Those applications opened on May 1 and will remain open until May 15.

All counties are eligible for the application period. Commissioner Andy Gipson says he encourages all landowners impacted by wild hogs to apply.

He adds the trapping program continues to deliver results.

The department provides smart traps to landowners and managers. Training is also provided to use the traps.
