Applications Available For Trooper School
If you’re interested in becoming a state trooper, you can pick up your application at a Mississippi Highway Patrol sub-station beginning today.
State lawmakers approved funding for a new class of troopers to be trained.
This is in an effort to reduce staff shortage and make response time to crashes quicker.
Mississippi Highway Patrol is allocated 650 state trooper positions and right now only 475 are filled.
And here in South Mississippi, only 22 troopers patrol the six southernmost counties.
If you’re interested in applying to be a part of cadet class 62, you can pick up your application at the Troop K substation located on Highway 67.
