Anonymous tips to Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers led to several arrests and convictions in 2021.

Crime Stoppers tells News 25 they’re grateful to the public for submitting so many tips and helping law enforcement in the process.

The organization recognized the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Division for the highest number of arrests made in 2021 based off of tips.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division was given a certificate for the highest dollar amount of drugs seized from one tip, around $45,000.

Coordinator Lori Massey says it takes a combined team effort to keep South Mississippi safe. “The combined effort between the media, law enforcement and of course the public- because if it wasn’t for the public or if any of those were taken out, we would not be successful. So, we have to have to have all those entities to work together.”
