Annual Supervisors Convention continues in Biloxi
County supervisors from across the Magnolia state are in town for networking and continuing education.
They have been on the Coast since Monday for the 94th edition of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors.
Executive Director of the National Association of Counties Matt Chase showed thanks to the supervisors for their hard work and proceeded to give national updates.
The big item on the agenda was a candidates forum where supervisors had the chance to hear from those running for statewide offices this fall. Attorney General Lynn Fitch said, “What an exciting time to talk to the board of supervisors. They do amazing work. They give it their time and talents 24/7. They’re making their communities safer and prosperous, so again I appreciate the work that they do and I appreciate the opportunity to work with the supervisors across our state.”
Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann said, “I want to talk about making sure that they know we’re supporting them on making Mississippi’s roads and bridges better. We’re supporting them on their compensation. We’re supporting them on broadband and it needs to go all over Mississippi. I’m going to go down a list of things we want to do in the future and I think we’re all on the same page.”
During conference breaks, the supervisors were invited to the exhibit hall to learn more about different programs and organizations in the state.
