Annual Second Liners Mardi Gras Parade

Saturday marked a full day of carnival fun in Biloxi and one local parade celebrated a big anniversary the only way they know how: in style!

This marks the 25th year the Second Liners Mardi Gras has rolled down the streets of East Biloxi.

Paradegoers lined Division Street and surrounding streets as the parade made its way to Doris Busch Park to catch throws and listen to bands from across the state of Mississippi, including MGCCC.

This year’s Queen Zaria, Pinkey Lewis, says the parade has transformed from a small walking parade to one the Biloxi community has embraced. “It’s the community’s parade. It’s the community’s parade and they come out, they support, the streets are lined with people with their families out grilling and just making a day of it.”

The Second Liners Mardi Gras Club keeps busy year round by giving out scholarships and participating in acts of community service.
