“Angel in Adoption” Back on the Coast

The Gulf Coast’s own “Angel in Adoption”, recently honored in Washington D.C. for her efforts, is finally back on the Coast.
Mag Holland was presented with a resolution by the Harrison County Board of Supervisors recognizing her passion for helping children. Last week, Holland was officially presented the 2015 Congressional Coalition of Adoption’s award by Senator Roger Wicker in D.C.
Mag and her husband, Marty, have taken in nearly 40 foster children over the past 13 years. They also converted their home into an emergency youth shelter following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
“Right now region 7 west, which is Harrison and Hancock County, has over 1,400 foster children and these children need homes. There are just not enough foster families or resource families, which is what they call them now. We’re always looking for help with that. Not everyone can adopt, not everyone can foster but everyone can do something for a child, whether it’s just helping them with school supplies or just praying for a child,” said Holland.
Holland is participating in a children’s rally on November 29th in Long Beach to bring awareness on how you can help.
