Amtrak Service returns to the Gulf Coast
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Amtrak Service has returned along the Gulf Coast.
The new Mardi Gras service officially began operating Monday morning, bringing back passenger service for the first time since before Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The Amtrak train service is back on the Coast and it’s off to a great start as it rolled through Gulfport and people were able to hop on the train.
The Mardi Gras Service route takes passengers to either Mobile or New Orleans with four stops along South Mississippi. Those stops are Pascagoula, Biloxi, Gulfport, and Bay St. Louis.
