AMR spreads Christmas cheer in Biloxi

Members of the American Medical Response team wanted to make sure that residents at the Pillars in Biloxi had a cheerful Christmas Day.
Dressed in their best holiday gear, multiple AMR members and their families walked the halls of the Pillars in Biloxi handing out gifts to residents. The Pillars is a facility that helps patients recover, renew, and revitalize.
Residents were given gifts like blankets, slippers, and had a chance to talk with Santa. AMR Operations Chief James Carver said, “To see the joy on these folks face is what they are looking for. They started this program about three years ago. They took it upon themselves to get together and start asking some of the other crews for donations. The first year they got enough just to do the memory care unit at this facility and the last couple of years it has kind of grown, just about all the employees donate some kind of gift. They get their friends and family involved with it and that’s what is here today, family and friends.”
This year, the group had enough gifts to give a present to every single resident at the facility.
