Amir Abdul-Rauf puts pen to paper to play basketball at Hines Community College

Another day, another signing for one local high school student-athlete right here on the coast.

On Wednesday, Amir Abdul-Rauf made his college commitment official by signing to play college basketball at Holmes community college.

There’s no questioning Abdul-Rauf made his mark on courts all around the coast. His ability to attack the rim and shoot the long ball, mixed with his athleticism, will translate well to the next level. Sports 25 had the chance to speak with Amir after his signing event an he spoke about what it meant to have friends and family there to watch him take his game to the next level.

“In my eyes, you just, you see who really supports you throughout the way,” said Abdul-Rauf. “…this shows a lot of love and support and makes your heart warm. Knowing that everything they said they meant it, and they are here when you sign, it’s just a great feeling.”
