American Legion Auxiliary #42 Ocean Springs needs volunteers for upcoming event

The American Legion Auxiliary #42 Ocean Springs is celebrating the Month of the Military Child this Saturday.

They’ll be hosting their first ‘Strong and Resilient Together’ event. The purpose is to bring enjoyment to children, particularly those of veterans and military.

The event is entirely free, even down to lunch.

There will be an auction with 82 items from local and veteran-owned business. The event will have carnival games, face painting, and more.

This is why the American Legion need volunteers to help out. Social and Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer McCullough said, “This event is free. It’s open to the community. So, if you love a vet, come on. If you don’t know any vets or military, come on! Come join us, come get involved. Come meet your community. This is who’s living around you and this is who we’re supporting.”

The event starts this Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Singing River Masonic Lodge in Gautier. Interested volunteers can email Jen McCullough at mcculloughjen@hotmail.com.
