Amazing Women of South Mississippi: Highlighting Annie Sanders
WXXV News 25 continues its new segment highlighting some phenomenal women in the area called ‘Amazing Women of South Mississippi.’
This week we are spotlighting Annie Sanders.
Sanders founded the Safe Haven Center for Domestic Violence in Long Beach, MS. The center is focused on helping people survive domestic violence and developing a safety plan.
She shares what motivated her to start the center.
“What motivated me is being a survivor myself of domestic violence for over 10 years. I knew that as soon as I was able to get out of my situation, heal, and move forward, I wanted to be able to help other women and men, whoever it is in this situation to become safe, self-sufficient, free from abuse,” said Sanders.
