Alumni Association to Host Free Black History Month Program
This free public program is hosted by the Pascagoula Negro/Carver High School Alumni Association and is held in celebration of local black leaders, historical places and other remembrances of the community. This event is intended to introduce the history to younger generations about a segregated society. It will also seek to capture the views of the times relating to black businesses, our cities and towns, and more.
The program will include familiar music, stories, drill teams, historical landmark presentations, artifact and photo displays, and guest speakers from around the community. Refreshments will be served. Co-sponsors are Pascagoula Public Library Genealogy and Local History Department, Archive Committee of the Alumni Association, Jackson County Historical and Genealogical Society, and N.A.A.C.P. Jackson County.
