Alpha Warrior Battle event

If you’re a fan of the show ‘American Ninja Warrior,’ the Alpha Warrior battle event held at Keesler Air Force Base is a must see.

At the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, a test of strength and skill is on the line with Alpha Warrior Battle Rig event. Five minutes to complete five lanes of obstacles. Alpha Warrior Pro Kevin Klein said, “We have been doing this the last two years, traveling around all the different Air Force bases installing these Alpha Warrior Battle rigs for the airmen to train on.”

There are 104 competitors with over 11 obstacles. The athletes have two chances and if they fall they’re out. “The key is focus. Everybody says I have the strength to get through that thing. That’s great, but staying focused and calm under pressure, that’s really the key out here,” said Klein.

Staying focused is something Donell Brown knows about. He is a former American Ninja Warrior competitor who plays close attention to his emotions while performing. “I use that nervousness and mental adrenaline to my advantage. I accept that your blood is about to start pumping and your brain is about to start going crazy and focus that on the obstacles.”

Keesler Air Force Base competitor Toribo Garcia has his eyes on the prize. He watches American Ninja Warrior regularly and wanted to take advantage of the different style of training. “I think anytime you are incorporating agility, good overall body strength, a lot of the times we get caught up in the heavy weights, deadlifts and yelling. We neglect the simple most effective tool we have in our bodies.”
