Alleged Gang Member Sentenced Greene County

An alleged gang member has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Welford “Levi” McCarty was found guilty of capital murder and desecration of a corpse after a three day trial in Greene County.
Prosecutors say McCarty killed Donovan Cowart because he was an informant for the police.
Cowart was killed sometime between January 13th and March 20 back in 2013.
His body wasn’t found until May of 2015.
