All clear at Ingalls after Pascagoula police respond to potential safety threat
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- On June 19th, 2025, at 11:08am, Pascagoula police officers were dispatched to HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding in response to a device that looked like a potential safety threat.
First Responders, along with Ingalls’ security team, quickly evacuated employees, set up a safety perimeter, and begin assessing the situation. Officials determined the device found was not a public safety threat.
The scene has been cleared, deemed safe by officials, and Ingalls has resumed all operations. Chief Scott said “I’m very proud of our First Responders and the Ingalls’ security team for working together to ensure the safety of our citizens.
HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding spokesperson Kimberly Aguillard said in a statement: “Earlier today Ingalls Shipbuilding security officials were made aware of a device that looked like a potential threat. Our security team quickly cleared the area and evacuated shipbuilders, set a safety perimeter, and notified local authorities, who assessed the device and determined it was not a threat. Out of an abundance of caution, workforce shifts in the safety perimeter were canceled to ensure everyone’s safety and allow the investigation to continue. All other work in the shipyard is open and has been deemed safe by security. We’re grateful for the quick response from our shipbuilders and our first responders.”
